Stress: It rules our lives in ways we may not realize. Whether you're feeling pressure from a that impending Thanksgiving dinner, just finished a tough workout, only got 5 hours of sleep last night or are being chased by a bear, your body releases a host of hormones as you go into fight or flight mode. What's worse: It's become our new normal, putting us in a chronic state of fight or flight. When we let those stresses build up without taking the proper time for recovery, we can experience weight gain, depression, anxiety and more.

Stretching and Relaxation is an hour dedicated to just you. We’ll go over some full-body stretching and mobility work and then go into learning some breathing techniques and meditation “drills” you can implement anywhere in those stressful situations so you can hopefully avoid all of the above nastiness.

WHAT: An hour-long hands-on class with some stretching and relaxation techniques you’ll be able to implement on your own whether you're getting last-minute groceries for Thanksgiving or feeling overwhelmed with family.

WHERE: Chiropractic First, 1609 Chicago Ave, Evanston

COST: $25 OR $60 if you attend this class PLUS Dr. Meggie Smith and Dr. Jennifer Medina's Mindfully Enjoying the Holidays workshop from 11AM-1PM.

Many of us can't get to a massage therapist weekly but foam rolling can be the next best thing!

These long foam cylinders can help weary muscles and achy joints feel brand new. We just need to know exactly how to use them to get the all the benefits!

Core Work: Back to Basics

About 8 out of 10 new clients who come to IzzyFit say they need to strengthen their "core". When asked what that means to them, there are a variety of answers from "doing crunches" to "holding long planks".

Core strength isn't just about your "6-pack" muscles. It's about your whole trunk: The front, the sides and back side! Core strength is about learning what needs to be stable and what needs to be mobile so the rest of your body is free to do what it's supposed to!

This class will be spent learning the building blocks of core strength and you'll go home with an action-packed list of what to do on your own to continue getting stronger. 


This class is for all levels. That said, if you are currently suffering from a back injury, sit this one out until you are healed and have your doctor's clearance.

WHEN: Saturday, August 23

TIME: 9:30-10:30AM

Women Out Walking Kick-Off Event: These Legs Were Made for Walking: Getting Your Body Ready for a Good Walk

Join IzzyFit Personal Training for the kick-off event for the City of Evanston's Women Out Walking event!

What: A 30-minute workshop where you will learn key stretches to get you ready for a good walk. We spend much of our days sitting: On the couch, at our desks, in the car. Learn how to stretch out your tight and tired muscles so you can walk strong and pain-free!

The easiest pound to lose is the one you never gained. Learn how to stay in control of your waistline!

ABOUT IZZYFIT: Isabelle "Izzy" Libmann came to personal training in a non-traditional, roundabout way. A theater major in college and event planner and publicist after college, life was very much on-the-go with nutrition and fitness on the back burner. 

It wasn't until she hired her own trainer that she recognized what a powerful experience it can be to get stronger and feel better (read this blog post on more about what Izzy thinks it means to be strong). One major "AHA!" moment later, Izzy decided to become a personal trainer herself so she could help people feel stronger, healthier and, most importantly, more empowered.

IzzyFit was born out of the desire to train each client as an individual with programs that fit their own personal needs. You can find Izzy at TruFit Personal Training Studios, a private training facility, right in the heart of downtown Evanston, IL.

Izzy attended the National Personal Training Institute and is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She is also a certified nutrition coach through Precision Nutrition as well as a certified pre- and post-natal trainer. She also holds a B.S. in Communications from Northwestern University.

Everyone has a different “freakout” story and different fears that continue to constantly “freak” them out.

We will be sharing what makes us freak out and comparing how we freak-out differently within the same subjects. Join us in sharing your fears and gain new perspective at a night filled with inspiration, juicy conversation and meaningful connections.

If this sounds familiar, let Izzy from IzzyFit Personal Training show you how you can fit in short bursts of exercise and stretch sessions into your day. We'll spend the first half of the presentation going over some general health/nutrition tips that can keep you energized and on track throughout the day.  The IzzyFit philosophy is that exercise should be a sane, fun and integrated part of your everyday life. Learn how it can be done!

Held the second Wednesday each month at noon, this lunch-&-learn opportunity features guest speakers and interactive programming geared towards challenges and issues more specific to small and home-based businesses.
